West Coast Designs meet East Coast Sophistication

Located in the garment district of Los Angeles, lies a new emerging design talent.

Los Angeles based designer, Lisamichelle, brings sophistication, elegance, and style to the Los Angeles runway as she presented her new spring collection at Elevate Lounge.

Reminiscent of designers, such as Philip Lim and Milly, Lisamichelle brings her own distinct tailored and feminine style to the plate.

Lisamichelle uses a selection of the most luxurious fabrics.  Hand painted and pleated gold foiled chiffon, metallic linen, and taffeta are used throughout the collection, in combination with rich silk jersey and silk charmeuse.  She sources the unique fabrics and trims from specialty mills throughout Europe, adding a European flair to her American fashion.   In addition to her exotic fabric choice, she has a keen eye for detail, which is demonstrated in the artistic, quirky and playful details woven throughout the draped and tailored collection.

When asked what her inspiration was, designer Lisa Felsenthal replied, “I wanted to do a collection that modernized old Hollywood glamour.  My feminine and flirty dresses are highlighted with vintage inspired trims and details.”  She continues to say, “The collection is shaped by the unique fabrics that I find.  There is a contrast between asymmetrical structured silhouettes and more romantic, ethereal draped silk jersey dresses”  All pieces are highlighted with artistic construction details.

Art has always played a major role in the designer’s life.  Before designing, she attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon, to study Fine Arts. After Reed, she obtained a design degree from the prestigious Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California.  She worked as an assistant designer at Rozae Nichols and an associate designer at Monique Lhuillier, before creating her own line of clothing, Lisamichelle.

About the Lisamichelle collection-

The Lisamichelle collection was started back in Spring 08.  The collection presents West coast flair to pieces that can be worn by an Upper East Side fashionista. The line is currently sold in boutiques in California and New York.  It has also been featured in Genlux magazine, WWD, Apparel News, as well in online publications, such as Agenda magazine, Variety.com, and LA story.com.  The clothing has been worn regularly on NBC’s First Look LA, Open House LA, All my Children, and the CW network.
